    A random thought--a passing dream,

A tale that simply needs be told.

Simple pleasures that seemed so dear,

Grow gray as we grow old.

    A thoughtful tease,

    A caring glance

A warmth that now turns cold.

These are the dreams of yesterday,

Gone away as the years unfold.

How sad it seems when I've been away for a long time and then come back to see that xanga has seemingly lost the popularity it once had. It was once the "thing", the "in", but I suppose that the rush of everyday life just doesn't have time to sit down and share a few thoughts with their friends. So, for old time's sake, I've decided to post an entry. I doubt anyone will read it, (for nobody ever gets on here, remember?) but I guess it won't hurt anything.

  •  Snow camp! I had a complete blast when I went with a group from Kingsway Baptist Church in Louisiana to Chicago and then to Wisconsin for camp. I made a lot of great friends--Lydia, Jay, Dill, Isaac, and David, along with our great sponsers Pastor and Mrs. Saxton and Mr. Marshall (the teen Sunday School teacher)--and I had a blast! Saw new places, met new people, and learned more about God.  I also got to see Chicago for the first time when we went to the Shedd Aquarium. Well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a few thousand words to tell y'all about my trip.

  • Happy New Year!

A new year for new beginnings.

Why must it only be on the verge of a new year that we plan a fresh start and make new resolutions in our lives?

    Why not everyday?

On this new year, I ask all you, dear friends, to not just resolve on this first day of 2008 to change your life, but resolve everyday of your life to become a better, closer person- and Christian- to Jesus Christ. And if you slack off on your resolution, don't give up and say that you'll begin again next January, but get up again the next day, say to your Heavenly Father that you're sorry you messed up, and begin again.

May you have the best year you've have ever had and don't forget to let go and let God!

  • I'm here!

    Where's here?

    Why, in Ohio of course!

    Why are you there?

I'm on vacation. Why else would I be 1200 miles away from home?

    Did you fly or drive?

We flew and I was so nervous that my mom had to drug me.

    Ha ha!

    Don't laugh, it wasn't funny.

What was the most exciting thing that happened after you got here?

I saw SNOW!!! And for the first time in my life, might I add. We went to the Imax to see the Polar Express in 3-D and to meet up with two of my old friends, Sarah and Steven Slawinski. They're twins. I got to see my dad for the first time in three of four months-(I've lost count because its been so long.)

    What are you doing today?

I'm going SHOPPING!!!   Not for me, but for other peoples Christmas presents.

Are you going to have a fun vacation?

    Of course!

    Random Thawts...

If people keep procrastinating on and on, some irritated person who is not doing so might just invent a flying pig robot.

Those people who think themselves to be so much smarter than others are usually the ones with the least common sense.

You know how old styles are coming back "in"? How come old thinking, morals, and human decency can't come back "in"?

Why is it that people think you to be so smart when you exibit your vast, selection of vocabulary words?

Why can't people just admit that they are wrong instead of explaning their actions and thinking that is enough to justify their reason?

Why can't unexplainable questions be explained?

Have you ever wondered if life could ever be more complicated? I mean, there you are in the middle of this extremely hard place and all of a sudden, your mind goes blank. Perhaps your good old imagination brings a sudden thought into your head and you do something really dumb. Like laughing out loud. Am I the only one who wonders about crazy things like this?

Anyhow, this month has been great, I think. The 5th was my birthday and my dad was even home the weekend before. The best thing I got was the complete Chronicles of Narnia in one complete volume. Yes, to all you older, wiser, and more mature individuals out there, you may think this to be a strange thing to be all happy about, but I think just the opposite. Besides, C. S. Lewis managed to put so many great allusions in his works that for a moment- but only for a brief moment, mind you- you think yourself to be reading a great comentary written by an aged professor with so many degrees hanging on his wall that you feel dizzy just by looking at them. Not that I've ever read one of those.......but I do think reading this work will be a good literary experience and I'm happy that I got what I wanted for my birthday.

Oh goodness! It's been over a month since I have posted on xanga! Maybe I'm sick or something. Or not.

My brother is back at Southland now-- yes we managed to get him there without getting lost-- and now we're back.

Last Wednesday- August 22- was my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!!!

My dad is home now for a week, then he will be headed back to Ohio. Actually, it's kinda a bummer because this is his last weekend to come home for awhile. Next month he starts a shutdown and only my mom will go and visit him up there. She's really freaked out though, because she doesn't like flying by herself.  I don't blame her.

The Price kids are coming over our house tonight and my parents are taking their parents out to dinner. I hope the house doesn't burn down or anything drastic like that while they're over here.

    I hope everything goes okay.

Have you ever wished that you could read other people's mind, especially the minds of your closest friends?  In one way, it could be pretty cool knowing their true reaction to things that happen, but then you always can't garantee that their reactions are very good. For example, if you went to your best friend and told them something terrible that so-and-so did to so-in-so, and your best friend agrees that the actions of so-in-so are completely horrifying, but deep in her mind she is in favor of the culprit, you wouldn't be too happy. But there could be another advantage to reading thoughts, like finding out what people really think about you. Could this really be an advantage or is it that we only see one side of it? Think about it. If we could really read the thoughts of everyone, we would be able to know not only the good, but also the bad. It could be that a thought pops into your friend's mind, even if it was not intentionally personal towards you, and you think so ill of them that you decide to end your friendship over it. Or vice-versa. If you could read everyone else's thoughts, wouldn't it be probable that they could read your thoughts too? If everyone knew what everyone else was thinking, either everyone would be enemies, or they would would have to sleep all the time just to avoid thinking. And even then, most of us dream often. We should all be grateful that our thoughts cannot be read by other humans, but we should remember that there is one being far greater that any human that knows every thought that even touches the edge of our imagination. God. Our Heavenly Father knows every thooght that comes in our mind and if we really realized this, we would be a lot more careful about what we think. So the next time a bad thought starts creaping into your mind, try and remember that even though others can't read your mind, God can.

Ah ha!  I made a new discovery. If you look closely (or not so closely) at my site you'll see what it is: I dicovered Xanga themes. Pretty cool.

Okay, I had a great time at Southland this past week. Bro. Tom Ferrel is a tremendous preacher and I don't know how he knows so much! Two messages especially stood out to me and they seemed to go together so perfectly. One was about how horrible Hell was and the other was about Judgement Day. He told everyone, "Breath in. Now breath out. Ten people just went to Hell." I guess it never really hit me how many people are out there searching for truth that they look in all the wrong places for. He challenged everyone to be a better soulwinner, even if you're too nervous to actually talk to someone about Jesus, the least you can do is give them a tract. When you have the chance to share the Gospel with someone and don't, thier blood will be on your hands. I sure don't want something like that on my mind. I'd like to challenge everyone of us to be better soulwinners for Jesus. He's worth it.

One other message that spoke to me was preached by Bro. Bryan Samms. Sometimes hurt will come in our life and sometimes people will wrong us without any cause. What we have to remember is that when we are as low as we can possibly get, when everyone has left us, and we are all alone, we find that the only one that will help us through it all is our Heavenly Father. And when it's all over and done with, if we use it to show forth His glory and not hurt us, it will come forth more precious than gold.

I'll be sure to post pictures soon!

About Me

  • I like to act, read, write, and tell stories. Cooking is a favorite and I'm not afraid of sugar. I cherish capturing the feeling of one moment with a single photograph. I savor the sound of the ocean and the taste of chocolate. I adore the colors baby blue, olive green, and coccoa brown. I love rain and the smell of freshly mowed grass. I never grow tired of the words infinity, desperation, endurance, destiny, restitution, and integrity. Seeing the good in everyone is always needed, but I'm not afraid to tell the truth. I am a dreamer.
